JOB SUMMARY
WarnerMedia Direct to Consumer (DTC), is looking for a Quality Assurance (QA) Manager within our Product Delivery team where you will lead, develop and implement QA methodologies, processes and documentation. We are strengthening our Quality Assurance capabilities to support WarnerMedia’s growth and improve our quality processes.

As a hands-on manager who can create QA processes and ensure it performs to quality standards - the role will encompass a wide range of activities focusing on developing, implementing and leading software QA processes; as well as mentoring and coaching all stakeholders and team members to achieve measurable quality improvements.

The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams of engineers, creative, marketing, program managers and corporate leadership. You will embrace our engineering-focused culture and development philosophy by actively involving and engaging the entire team. Our self-organizing teams need a Quality Assurance Manager who remains focused on delivering to the right goals and executing in a way that is consistent with the team’s development methodology. To this end, the successful candidate must possess strong negotiation and cross-functional communication skills, is a team player, and works with a sense of urgency in a time sensitive environment.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide leadership and technical expertise within QA teams and across the broader company to improve integrity, interoperability and viability across all platforms, services and media outlets.

  • Introduce and implement industry QA best practices to the teams and contribute to improving the team’s overall functional craft.

  • Define QA strategy, approach, and execution on a range of development projects.

  • Set well-defined expectations for QA roles across the company and provide support for your teams’ career growth and personal development.

  • Improve department and team processes by working with other disciplines, including Product, Engineering, Art, Design, etc.

  • Participate in all aspects of the project life-cycle, from ideation to specification to release.

  • Assign work to other team members as needed and define workflows for release periods.

  • Identify potential risks to release and work with leadership to resolve.

  • Work closely with development to gather requirements or resolve questions.

  • Interact with test case management and bug tracking systems.

  • Create release roadmaps and sign-off on final submission reports for launches and major releases.


REQUIREMENTS

  • 8+ years of hands-on experience in quality assurance preferably in media technologies dealing with digital data for audience targeting.

  • 3+ years Lead or Managerial experience testing in Software Applications, Entertainment, Video Games or Mobile platforms.

  • Strong team building and empowerment skills

  • Experience with Agile development processes

  • Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences

  • The ability to communicate effectively to all stakeholders and to build relationships at all levels of the organization

  • Comfortable as a “hands-on” manager and willing to roll up your sleeves to get things done

  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills while exercising sound judgement


PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience testing audio/video data streaming

  • Experience in test automation and tools

  • Experience with CI/CD process and technologies (e.g. Jenkins or equivalent)

  • Knowledge of versioning systems like GitHub, Perforce, etc

  • College degree preferred
