EMEA is a key market for CNN International Commercial, and home to nearly 30 percent of Content Sales global revenues for the network, as well as significant distribution revenues for CNN.

As the Director Content Sales & Licensing EMEA, you will be responsible for (a) maintaining and fostering key strategic commercial partnerships and (b) developing and growing new major partnerships for CNN, and (c) leading the formulation of an overall partnership strategy.

This is a key multi-disciplined role and involves working with key partners across branded channels, content and licensing, Distribution and Digital. This is an international role based in London and focused first on EMEA markets.

Reporting to the VP of Strategic Partnerships, you will will work closely with wider content sales teams, the Global Director of Out-Of-Home business, WarnerMedia in-country sales teams, CNN Editorial, the CNNI Head of Product, other regional Sales Heads to identify opportunities to grow the business.

What you'll be doing:

  • You will provide strategic attention and relationship management to key Content Partnerships, including Branded Channels in EMEA and will be responsible for certain revenue and growth objectives
  • You will be responsible for Commercial Development - developing and fostering major partnerships in other new areas of growth for CNN, including Digital, Learning & Education, and Distribution
  • You will provide leadership of content sales initiatives across EMEA via the Content Sales team, the WarnerMedia sales force, agents and self-initiative on large deals
  • You will provide management of content sales in the region including consultants, new business pipeline and current revenue management
  • You will provide leadership in the Content and Partnerships Management team along with Head of Product team, other regional sales heads, and Editorial
  • You will collaborate with CNNIC ad sales and digital teams in the development of sales in brand publishing/native content space

What we're looking for:

  • You will have experience in developing and closing commercial deals around content sales and branded channels
  • You will have proven exposure working in a multi-platform sales organisation with a record of exceeding revenue goals
  • You will possess strong interpersonal and negotiation skills and have great relationships / contacts and networks in the region
  • You will have experience of working with legal to define, lead and drive complex deals / contracts
  • You will have knowledge of digital publishing, native content / brand publishing, and content syndication sales
  • Arabic or additional European languages a plus
  • You will have the ability to travel – sometimes at short notice
