The Job

The Senior Analyst will be responsible for consolidating, analyzing and forecasting worldwide content licensing and home entertainment revenues and profits for HBO’s key titles. In this role, the senior analyst will be responsible to develop and maintain title profitability models to support Senior Management in evaluating strategic business decisions such as deal analyses and slate sensitivities.

The position reports to the Senior Manager, Financial Operations and Reporting and will serve as a key liaison between WarnerMedia Entertainment Consolidations, HBO Programming teams and Warner Brothers.

Detailed responsibilities include the following:

  • Consolidate, analyze and report (against long-range plans, budgets, prior year and forecasts) by-title content revenue, expense and participation/residual costs for Forecast, Budget, Long-Range Plan
  • Develop ultimate content revenue and profit models through trending of historical data, analysis of business drivers and knowledge of industry trends to support programming amortization calculations and deal and slate sensitivities
  • Prepare ad hoc distribution deal analyses to support Senior Management in evaluating strategic business decisions
  • Compile and evaluate Gross-to-Net title profitability models to support FP&A and Senior Management in the greenlighting, production and participation deal-making processes
  • Act as key liaison for coordinating between personnel of all levels from WarnerMedia Entertainment Consolidations, HBO Programming teams and Warner Brothers
  • Participate in the development of analytical tools, IT systems and processes to support the consolidation and analysis of HBO content revenue and profits to optimize internal efficiencies


The Essentials

  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or finance
  • 2-4 years prior work experience in accounting, finance, management consulting or investment banking
  • MBA or CPA a plus
  • Strong analytical, organizational, interpersonal, and leadership skills
  • Excellent written/oral communication and financial presentation skills
  • Strategic thinker and problem solver with ability to manage details
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent financial modeling and Excel skills
  • Financial database experience a plus (e.g., Oracle, Hyperion, TM1)
